68|Rosie Rees- Yoni Egg to IVF. A Cosmic Love Story, from sexual awakening to motherhood.
This week on Love Patty, we’re joined by the incredible Rosie Rees, Queer Queen activist for internalised freedom, pleasure pioneer, sex educator, groundbreaking sex-toy creator, and founder of Yoni Pleasure Palace, The Naked Awakening, Splash Blanket and Yin Body.
Rosie’s work goes far beyond helping women feel comfortable in their bodies. She challenges the deeply ingrained beliefs that tell women to be smaller, quieter and less connected to their pleasure, and invites us to reclaim our bodies as places of freedom, joy and self-discovery. We dive into everything from Rosie’s sexual reawakening, Yoni Eggs and naked yoga, to the evolution of her infamous “Squirt Blanket” into the Splash Blanket. A beautifully practical product that has found an entirely new life beyond the bedroom, from postpartum nappy-free time and breastfeeding leaks to skin-to-skin and starting solids! But this conversation is about so much more than pleasure.
Rosie opens up about falling in love with her wife Ash after years of a complicated, long-distance crush, despite them both being in heterosexual relationships at the time. Their story is one of courage, cosmic connection and taking a leap when life doesn’t necessarily look how you imagined it would. Rosie never pictured motherhood for herself, but suddenly found herself becoming a stepmum and navigating a completely new chapter of life with Ash.
Then, in 2020, Ash became suddenly unwell and was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis after presenting to hospital with paralysis in both legs. They spent six months in a wheelchair and underwent intensive rehabilitation to walk again. After walking down the aisle together, Rosie finally felt ready to pursue motherhood herself. Tragically, just six weeks after their wedding, Rosie’s mother died by suicide, changing the course of that journey once again.
What follows is an extraordinary story of resilience, love, grief, hope and an unconventional path to motherhood. After four years of trying to conceive through "turkey basting" Rosie and Ash found themselves on what can only be described as a fated path when a woman offered to donate her late gay son’s sperm to a lesbian couple, with the hope of becoming a surrogate grandparent to the resulting child. For Rosie, who had experienced the devastating loss of her own mother, the connection was immediate and profound. That journey has now led to a successful IVF pregnancy, and Rosie is expecting her baby in November 2026 and she shares the gender of her baby with us!
Alongside everything life has thrown at her, Rosie has built three thriving businesses from the ground up, creating spaces and products that encourage women to reconnect with their bodies, pleasure and confidence. This is a conversation about love, sexuality, grief, motherhood, resilience, business, identity and the courage to live life on your own terms.
